The most promising thing is that it was a young England team (average age of 24 apparently) so they can get better.

The worry will be that some of those young players end up being signed by the big clubs and stop improving.

If they can play with that freedom in the Euros then maybe they have some chance.

As someone said it was nice to see an England team play that looked proud to wear the shirt

Lots of people getting carried away over a friendly.

Good game and great the we came back to win.

England playing at the top of their game and Germany weren't.

Not sure that it would have been the same outcome if something was riding on it.

The Germans are not the same side that won the WC. Their results since prove that. Always nice to beat the Germans in their back yard. Three in a row !!

And yes, if someone can make sure Hodgson doesn't pick Rooney...

That was a great game. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Brings back memories of watching the 5-1 win in 2001 whilst on a family holiday in Northern Italy. All the Germans leaving the pub in a huff because there's an English family with two kids standing on the table waving an England flag around.

Damn, England... raising our hopes for Euros only to not make it out the group. Yet again, we could go all the way! Tongue

First time I could be bothered to watch England in an age. Glad I did. Would like to add my name to the 'Don't start Rooney' camp.

Was chatting to the missus about why I couldn't be bothered to watch England over the last few years and it came down to the attitude of the previous stalwart players (Gerrard, Rooney, Terry etc), there just didn't seem to be any enthusiasm or pride in the shirt (they may well have been enormously proud to don the shirt, but it just didn't translate to me).

Didn't recognise most of the players last night but thought they looked hungry to play and win - refreshing change!

Surely even the Wise Old Owl can see fitting Rooney into that side wouldn't work. Shuffling all those who played so well last night into different positions just to accommodate the scouse whoremonger would be a travesty.

Plus Rooney is notorious for regaining fitness after a long spell out.

First time I have seen the goals, Vardys was absolutely brilliant, a goal taken by a man with obvious confidence.

Very nice turn by Kane too for his goal.

It's the hope that kills ya! Wink

Interesting to see how they do tonight.

Although I can't help but feel it won't have much bearing on how they do in the summer.

As much as Milner frustrates me, it is nice to see us able to field a near completely different 11 and not think that we're immediately fucked.

Well it was good while it lasted

I presume we aren't going to get out of our group in the Euros now we've lost to a team that weren't even good enough to qualify Wink
