•Who was your first away game against?
Bristol Rovers

•What was the score?
4-1

•When was it?
17.10.81

•How long was it after your first home game?
About 3 years.

•How old were you?
17

•What do you remember about the day?
Glancing back at the motorway behind the away end and seeing a motorbike rider and passenger with red and white scarves and waving as they went by.
We were top of the league after that game and ended up being relegated.
Also trips to Bristol City, Reading, Oxford, Luton (FA cup) and Newport that season.

Many a good away day out has been spoiled by 90 minutes of football since then, but also lots of memorable moments
e.g. Birmingham (6-4) have made the pain and suffering, over the years, worthwhile.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

If I remember right that was also the game when the Rovers fans left early & we're throwing rocks & bricks over the back of the away end.
Also going on a football special train & there being a lot of trouble in the way back to the station (Stapleton Road)

Yeah there was a lot of trouble that day, used to love the football specials on the train, we always had one for Rovers and Shitty, the oldest dirtiest carriages with blocked toilets and broken seats etc.

Good times Smiley

That game at Brum was a cracker Easter Monday it i remember rightly.
We took so many up they opened up the segregation section to allow us all in.

4-1 down well into the 2nd half i know many an old boy left for the pub but we were too young to drink so stood it out. The rest is history the Brum fans were not happy and a few slaps handed out outside for good measure.
Oh happy days
