The Muppet Movie  very Lynch-esque.. 12 Angry Men is a brilliant shout. For the record I do think the Shawshank Redemption is good, it's just not the best film ever. I love documentary films but I'm not sure I'd add too many of my favourites to the list because they are heart breakingly depressing (Deliver us from evil, Black Tar Heroin: The dark side of the street, capturing the Friedmans) In terms of foreign films, Christiane F. (Soundtrack by Bowie) And Y Tu Mama Tambien would make my list. |

576 for me. Not sure I'd rate them all as 'Must see before you die'. A lot of them were oldies from the 30's, 40's & 50's; one of the benefits of growing up in the Seventies, when there seemed to be more black & white films shown on tv.
