As no one has commented I just thought Id mention it.  Apologies for bringing football into the forum.

Ling has been shortlisted for Manager of the month for november.  He wont get it but he's been nominated.  Other nominees are Tony Mowbray, Graham Westley and Rob Page.

Hopefully he won't get it....Gary Monk, won it in August, previous season achieved Swans highest Prem finish, so a nice shiny new 3 years contract, 3 months later to be sacked.

Can't believe any previous nomination has included a 5-1 tonking by Fleetwood amongst results under consideration. Good luck though Lingy

Lingy will be MOTM sometime, inevitably. He's one of the best. I'm still angry at the outrageous way he was sacked by Torquay two and a half years ago. He never received the support from the Torquay board that every manager deserves. Best of luck to Lingy and to Swindon.  Smiley

Is Chris Wilder the guy from up the road ?
Is he the paedophile ?
Or was that the last one ?

Yes, not been plain sailing for the Gulls since the poor way they treated Lingy, karma perhaps.  sad for the supporters at Plainmoor.

It was 4 years ago this Boxing Day, that we went to Plainmoor managed by Lingy and got beat 1-0.

They ended up in the PO's, we won the next 10 straight and were champions.  Crowd was just over 4,000 of which over 1000 were Town.

Plenty of Div 4 clubs survive on that...also from memory they were building a new stand, so that suggested progress...in other words, no idea why they've got into their current mess. As Yeovil have found in the past, it's very difficult to get players down to the South West when below the Conference.
