I remembered I made this a couple of years ago and updated it to include the post Andrew Black era:

I don't think the club have published exact figures of ST sales but would be interesting to include in the above.

Is that the one who always implies pre (and mid) season that we'll be relegated, gets it spectacularly wrong, and still sits on his high horse every time we lose a game?

Ah yeah, just seen some comment from this morning stating that it would be a major surprise if we didn't lose today.

No wonder he's silent tonight.

I think the figures show that it takes a while for the crowds to come back and a few years of poor football can have a lasting effect. Look at the early 2000s where we bumbled along with 6k averages (except 2003/4).

It wasn't until the Fitton season ticket offers that got people coming again (despite the Malpas era). That impetus is melting away now as the gates fell away again despite last season being our best since 2000.

Of course there are always a few skews to the numbers and a few 10k plus games can  push up the average. We had a period when Leeds and Southampton drew in the big gates and a local derby in good seasons can do the same. Thought 6957 today was a good turnout considering weather and home form.

.

How long is it that away attendances have been regularly reported? Is it possible to minus them from the total attendances to give a truer reflection of how the home fans are supporting the club by actually attending the games?

Or can't you be assed?

Don't have 20 years worth, but the average of home fans only for the last few years is
2015/16 6750
2014/15 7443
2013/14 7519
2012/13 8089
2011/12 7908
2010/11 7779
2009/10 7562
2008/09 6814
2007/80 6627  (there were a few estimated away followings in this one)
2006/07 6853
2005/06 5275

Agree with Oaksey Moonraker above.

The Fitton years stand out as the best for home attendances.
