Our problem is poor players, which won't change with ML, as he's stuck with the same as Cooper had, and can't bring in replacements. Therefore if the players are at all capable of better it should happen straight away. One thing that has been niggling away is the feeling that given the pitches and weather so far this season have been very much in our favour, we may now get worse as we approach winter.

I can see us winning this, then getting someone like Oxford or Rovers in the next rpund and losing.

I can also see a win today being followed by a return to normal service next week,  leading us all to wish we could trade a cup win for 3 points.

Been on the happy pills again Reginald?

I remember seeing us win at Spotland in 84, about this time of year in similar weather conditions....Macari was still playing, and we had a handful of decent players left over, plus some newbies Lou was trying to forge into a team. Not a great side, but you could sense that Lou, was instilling into them some effort....on the day Colin Gordon came on for a debut, scored and ended up with 17, by season's end.

We'd picked up Gordon from park football, he looked like that McNulty at Luton, but on the day bundled one in fairly late on, barely visible through the muck and rain. With full time training you could see Gordon morph from a fat fucker into something more like a footballer.

The Town hardcore, could see that although results were patchy particularly on the road the team played with a spirit, especially at the CG, which is why when Macari was sacked, the fans demonstrated successfully for his return.

We need to see some battling spirit now, in order to convince the present day hardcore.

We shall fight on the beaches of the Southend pitch,
we shall fight on the shitty northern grounds,
we shall fight in the fields of god forsaken Bradford,
we shall fight in the hills of Oldham,
we shall never surrender...

Never really understood the 'we'll get a result' line.

Getting beat 5-0 is a result - just not the one you want.

Travel up to Swindon night before to stay with the parents and then back to Saltash on the matchday evening
