Went a few years ago - absolutely loved it. Cheap to get to, cheap to stay but not the cheapest to eat and drink.
Go slightly out of season (May or September) otherwise it's rammed (apparently) and impossible to get dinner reservations etc.

Yep, for a day trip. Enjoyed it. Other places of interest near there are Split, Dubrovnik (of course) and Plitvice.

Not been to Hvar but the island next to it Brac which was a really quiet harbourwith great restaurants and a cracking little boozer but that was when Croatia was arguing with Bosnia!  |
