When even optimists think he's on the brink I'm beginning to think I've clearly misread the situation.
Optimism/pessimism has nothing to do with it. I just think that Power is not the type to be afraid of making tough decisions and will be keeping a close eye on his investment. |

But don't you think his options as to a replacement are narrow due to the way he runs the club?
I can't think of many managers willing to work within the confines of it.
The first name on my wishlist would be Jimmy Floyd but couldn't see him fancying the job as it stands.

Yes I see, fair enough. Feels like he and Power have a marriage of convenience anyway. The first name on my wishlist would be Jimmy Floyd but couldn't see him fancying the job as it stands.
Unfortunately I think the days of being able to steel managers from other clubs are long gone, like you say - he probably thinks he'll be able to do more at Burton anyhow. Reckon it'll either be a youth team coach type (like Williams) or an interim job for a mate (like when Sherwood get sacked at Christmas). |
