Hi Woolster. Just decided I wasn't going to post this season. Thought there was more than enough bollocks on here without me adding to it. Still got the season ticket. I'm ok - saying that just had 5 weeks off work and a long weekend courtesy of GWH after getting campilobachter food poisoning. Fantastic for the diet but never felt so shit in my life.

Not a take away. Spoke to environmental health but not sure where I got it from. Hadn't eaten chicken for week which is normally favourite. Best guess is that something I got from a supermarket was infected with it - best guess mushrooms.

Glad that you are ok CS. Are you sure it wasn't tomato poisoning?

I got a dose of salmonella at New Year, possibly one of the worse experiences of my life. Ten days of stomach cramps and the shits, awful. Luckily it decided to kick off in my guts and not my stomach as I would have had the honks as well. Actually these bastards can be fatal with dehydration.

I'm not saying where I think I picked it up (probably bad personal hygiene by kitchen staff or servers) but there is no way I am ever going to eat there again.

Dehydration was why I ended up in hospital. Kidneys were packing up so ended up on a drip for 3 days. Had the shits for 4 weeks.

I had the same 18 months or so ago, then a much milder case 6 months later. Sounds like yours was a bit worse than mine but the first time I had the shits for over 2 weeks (like, permanently on the crapper) and had 3 days or so in hospital. Nasty as fuck. Pretty sure mine was a takeaway, found out later it had a 1 star rating, but environmental heath went in and didn't find any evidence of it.

Apparently the bacteria is present on about 70% of supermarket chicken.
