Author Topic: How many Town season ticket holders does it take to pay the CG rent?  (Read 3973 times)

Due to my obsession with Eastleigh FC, I read the following silly season story which prompted a question http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33345436

The guy's connection with another traditionally non-League club says that they need 2,000 season ticket holders to pay the rent on their ground. What do you reckon the comparison is with STFC?

Our rent is linked to turnover. Listed in this article as £17,000 a month but also says Power was trying to renegotiate.

http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/11702509.Swindon_Town_reaches_agreement_with_council_over_missed_rent/?ref=mr

17000 x 12 = £204,000 per year

204000 / 345 = 591 and a bit Town End season tickets.

Thank you for your  quick answer. Does the Town End have that many ST holders?! But I know what you mean.

How do Poxford make up the shortfall in their ST numbers to pay their rent? I'd check who you're insured with!

Quite simply by amassing debt, which now stands at about 10 mill. A very dangerous place to be, with little to show for it, but Bormuff, were in considerably deeper doo doo, not long back and are now in the Prem.

Yeah but it's not like Bournemouth's turnaround was 'organic', so to speak.

It does show though that it is possible in the short term to get lucky....Bormuff, before going up in our PdC part season, had spent one season above Div3/4 in 87/88

It shows that anyone can purchase promotion all the way up to the Prem if they have enough money.  No luck involved, just cash.

There were plenty in the Championship with more money than Bormuff, last season.

Having some finance is doubtless important, but I doubt they'd have gone up without Howe...this is where they got lucky, as Howe got the job in the first place, by being the only fella left on the payroll, when they were on the verge of non-league.

It's a shame that when he was sitting around on his arse here, doing nowt, somebody didn't think.....ohh potential great manager here.

Town End must hold 1500 so i'd say there are easily 500 - 600 season ticket holders in there.
