Old iPod query..

Hi all..

I have an old iPod that I'd quite like to reset.. My old iTunes details don't talk to my current ones..

My dilemma comes from the fact that it's no doubt on iOS -5 or something, yet my iMac is on the most recent OS, plus my iTunes has recently been updated.

Does anyone know whether the old iPod will be compatible with the new OS?

I'd buy a new one but this is perfect for running, plus I'm tight.
