Can anyone help me and tell me who wore the number nine in the 1989/90 season? I would guess either Shearer or White? I have a white away shirt with the number on, I would have only been three years old and despite trying to find who wore that number I am having no joy whatsoever!

Possibly both? That's the days before Squad numbers and you just lined up 1 to 11 depending on who was playing.

Steve White wore the number 9 most of that season Shearer used to wear number 8, dont forget in those days there was not squad numbers so the 11 that started wore 1 to 11
