It was only an 85% eclipse here, but I saw it in Marlborough.

Stood out on the fire escape with two bits of card like a BOSS.

Saw some good eye shots of it down the M4, it was behind enough haze you could look at it. It never got anywhere near dark at all though, a bit gloomy around 10.45 near Slough was as dark as it got

That's the normal state of affairs for Slough though isn't it?

It was a bit of a let down even in Aug 1999 when the sun was out.  You had to be in Cornwall then for it to be total, I think.  You're not going to notice much at all with cloud cover, unless it's total.

Was pretty sunny in Swindon this morning.

I dunno, you could tell it was a lot darker than usual.

Sat out on my doorstep with a pair of binoculars taped to a mic stand and a big bit of white card to watch it. Great stuff.

I got pics in Highworth. Pretty cloudy but you could see the sun easily enough.

Ace....I went out to Avebury, for a bit of cosmic battery recharging then on to Stonehenge.   Did the eclipse at Avebury, and it was rather splendid....glasses left over from 99 in Cornwall.

Added bonus of the vernal equinox this weekend which always attracts pagan ladies....who are an interesting breed, what with Mother Earth being more a lady thing than the more patriarchal conventional religions.
