How is Kasim going to get back in the side?

Unless they ditch Gladwin on the left and bolster the midfield.

They looked so much more fluid and pacey last night

In my opinion, Luongo, L Thompson and Kasim is still our best central midfield trio, when playing together.

Kasim has a habit of slowing the game down. On Saturday, we had him, Gladwin & Swift all doing the same and arsing about with the ball with no impact.

With Luongo and L Thompson in the middle with their directness and pace, it suits Kasim as he can play the "Pirlo" role.

So, that would  mean Stephens reverting to CB - which is a waste of his talents.

Kasim hasn't performed anywhere near his early season form for ages now.

He was CB on Saturday, was excellent and rightly got man of the match.
He doesn't strike me as a natural midfielder, he's good at going forward at times from defence however.

Probably doesn't help that he has Stephen Darby in the changing room to remind him about it every day Smiley

Morrison and Ritchie scored that night... charlie with a brace...

But yeah, he's probably still pissed at that too..

Wasn't that the season we got relegated?... Incidently, McCormack and Benson both started for Charlton that night..

The following season they were to become big players for us, of course.

Great first half performance.

Second half highlighted that Cooper would be an even better manager if he was bold enough to change the system when the opposition are on top. There is enough ability in the team to do it easily, eg be a bit more sound defensively with a 4-5-1:-

Nathan T : Branco : Turnbull : Toffolo (on for Smith)

Byrne : Louis T : Mas : Stephens : Gladders

Williams

Our weakness is the space behind the wing-backs, especially when we get caught in possession.
