Although it appears that Salford (Gary Neville in particular) are being extremely cagey about announcing their playing budget this season. See the minor spat between Accringtons owner and GN on Twaitter a few weeks back.

If Chesterfield aren't the biggest budget they will be the 2nd highest, especially after signing Town trialist MAF for apparently slightly higher wages than we offered him in L2.

Football Clubs budgets and players wages aren’t information that’s is in the public domain.

Baffles me how people can talk so factually about those things.

Spireites may as last season have a decent budgie.... but if it's not used sensibly you can get in big trouble.... they're currently sinking like a stone, 6 defeats in a row.  We probably dodged a bullet with MAF, which from our point of view looked a bit desperate.

I've said it before and I'll say it again Flitcroft did a decent job in stabilising us as a Div 4 club, and Brown although early, looks like he should be able to avoid Spireite style straits.  Saturday should be a decent indicator, as you'd expect Morecambe to be down the wrong end all season.

PB could do with a win on the road.... not achieved since his first game.  Brown himself says it's about trends and that is one that needs arresting before it becomes a major problem.

Yet we couldn't get a win at home very often under Flitcroft. Maybe this season we'll struggle on the road. I'm sure we'll get a few. I don't see the difference to last season in that respect. Except, the style of play is much better and home fans and ST holders will be happy because they actually are getting to see the Town win.

Likely if our home form mirrors something similar to last years away form, then with just a few away wins all season could easily see us into the play offs.

Last season was at least highly unusual if not unique for the away form being very good and home form patchy.

So far it's the more usual pattern, however we have played the get out of jail card in all the home fixtures, and that won't last, we need to start looking more convincing. This early in the season, it's fine, it can be seen as warming up...you want your best form from about Nov through to Feb, to really put yourself in the frame.
