I checked. Turns out the Liberty Bell was cast in London, ironically. By a founder, I suppose.

19. Cut into four equal pieces with two cuts, then slice the cake in half parallel to the plate.
I think you'd have to reverse the process to only slice 3 times

15 could be as simple as 'poof'

Also I remember as a youth in the 60s the term 'a friend of Dorothy' was also used as slang for a bender

I think it's polari as in the language they used.. My dad grew up in London in the 50s and some of his euphemisms I can't imagine being in any quiz..

Edit: the lady at no.4 I think is Maggie Aderin-Pocock of "the Sky at night"

I think the problem is that the answer could be so many different things

I thought the question was what was the slang for a homosexual in the 50s and 60s.

Maybe I read the question wrong

11... hardly a German slang term. Didn't it come from a novel or something?

18. If you cut the cake in half and then quarters, you then have four pieces of cake which would all have to be cut making six cuts. Surely you cut horizontally  first and then in half and then quarters meaning three cuts needed?
