Over the Ukraine... 280 passengers on board.
Not confirmed it was actually shot down yet but reports are suggesting it was bought down by a surface to air missile. Either way, it has definitely crashed.
If it was shot down, then somebody, somewhere, is in a shit-load of trouble.

Just been reading about it, it's insane if true. They brought down a plane that was flying at 21,000 feet before I think, wouldn't an airliner have been higher than that mid-flight?

That's awful, poor people, although It was only a matter of time. The wife wants to go to NZ, I said only if she goes via the US, as too dodgy on the asia flight path, the normal route goes over a lot of the trouble spots.

Reports suggesting that it was shot down by Ukrainian separatists with a Russian supplied Buk SAM system.
Of course Putin will distance himself from it. I'm sure he's quaking at the thought of more financial sanctions.
