Trio of clubs eye up Thompson brothers

SWINDON Town look to have a battle on their hands to keep Nathan and Louis Thompson, with Wolves the latest club to show an interest in one or both of the two brothers.

I see twitter is warming up nicely for a full-scale meltdown some time later today. Relegation has already been mentioned.

Always gonna be a struggle for lower lge teams to keep hold of young talent, esp home grown ones. Although you hope if anyone has towns interests at heart its the Thompson brothers.
All you can hope is club sell at a sensible price and throw in a sell on clause, Already  been said we don't need to sell so we don't have to accept stupid offers.

If we get a decent offer, then we'll sell....hopefully we're not in a position to have to do a Ritchie style deal, but from what Power said after the court case, unless ST sales have risen, we'll be forced to keep the budget sustainable.

It's getting that decent money that's the problem, other clubs know we're vunerable.

Put simply, it's terrible management to not sell a player if you receive an offer that exceeds the value of said player.

Power's been strong in his message that he won't sell unless the price is right, and if the price is right, he should sell. That goes for Mass too.

Every player has a price, unless you're bankrolled at this level you need to sell young talent every now and again to keep the club going.

Its how Crewe have operated for years.

Although they spend a lot of money on their academy.

I don't mind selling players for the right price. Normally, the players deserve a shot at a higher level and we can't turn down silly money.

The only thing is that we need to see a healthy portion of the money reinvested in the squad. If we sold both Thompsons for around a million (not unlikely IMO) that's enough to get in decent players in almost every position.

If we sell them and dont reinvest then I'd be concerned.

Notice he says Louis played very well in our first game against them last season, which is impressive as an un-used sub.

Looks like Leeds have signed Gaetano Berardi so you would assume that ends their interest in Nathan
