....this season, we ended with 3 joint highest scorers of League goals for the first time.....further the totals of 8 for N'Guessan , Ranger and Mighty Michael Smith, are the joint lowest individual totals for a season in our FL history.

8, matches Peter Eastoe in the truly dire season of 73/74 and Guilliano Grazioli, in the not great season of 01/02.

There have been 3 other seasons when the leading scorer has not managed 10, 9 being the total of the top marksman.

Namely 50/51 Maurice Owen.

58/59 Bob Edwards.

00/01 Danny Invincibile.

Even further....Mighty Mike, is almost certainly the only player in STFC history to finish leading scorer, not having played in a fixture before the first year of the given season.

Nice.  And Im sure this must have been mentioned last night, but Liverpool have just set a new record of 148 goals in their PL games this season. The PL record was 147 in Swindon games in 1993-94.

I saw a lot of goals that season, just not very many in the right end.

 Smiley didn't know that.

It also took Smith less games to reach that total than Ranger despite their extremely differing football ability reputations.

Smith's total of course included a few pens making this stat also somewhat pointless

Only Eastoe in 19 did it in less.
