I do not believe for a second that the banning is solely for this alone... But I still think it doesn't help anyone and seems OTT. I think the reaction from some fans on twitter has been equally as ott though.

Wasn't there an issue previously where Sam and/or Wilts Radio broke an embargo to bring an "exclusive" over a transfer, which eventually didn't happen!! Or am I getting muddled up with the Jason Roberts "exclusive" brought to us by our own in-the-know journo!!  |

FWIW I think the only ones to blame here are STFC what do they expect these days with social media a fan see's Rangers shirt and of course he will 'tweet' or 'facebook' the fact as it will be a shock to everyone, and Sam being a journo would be expected to confirm what he knows as it is then out on the public domain.
So what if P'Boro changed their team due to Ranger playing, it worked really well didn't it with them losing, and I don't buy that either I'm sure no change was made and didn't I see it mentioed that Ranger was by the players enterance when Fergie entered players area.
I think that stfc need to have a think about how they do stadium tours before games so as not to get anything leaked in the future.
I expect Sam to be banned for 1 home game though and after that he will be back in his usual seat, or maybe he can do co-commentary for BBC to get in the press box
