Im not sure how many will have heard of this bloke but he was a fuckin legend, he died this week in Havana Cuba, he was 78, he was one of latin americas greatest ever musician/singers.

i was lucky enough to see him live in may in brighton and he was spellbinding, his voice conjuers{sp} up images of hot beaches in the caribean with mulas dancing  whilst i sip corona.

if you can check out some of his stuff, he is obviously most famous for his work with the buenavista social club, but his solo work is some of the most peaceful and chilled music you will ever hear.

Ibrahim el mundo será un poco lugar sin usted, resto en paz.

Hadn't heard of him to be honest, but saw a bit about him in the papers earlier this week about his death.

From what I read (not sure if this is correct), he was almost in obscurity when Ry Cooder recruited him for the Buena Vista Social Club and then his career really took off again, along with other members I imagine.

If anyone has any stuff of his to post I'd be interested to hear it.
