Heading out to Germany a week today for a 'lads football weekend' with a few of the boys.. Going to watch MSV Duisburg vs. SV Darmstadt 98 On Saturday and Fortuna Dusseldorf vs. Dynamo Dresden on the Sunday.

The question I put to you is, has anybody ever watched Football in Germany? What should we expect? 1 of the group goes over a few times a year and loves it, but is it really that good?

Apprently the beer is good mind..  Beers

They love it if you all get together and do the nazi salute, whilst putting your finger horizontally under your nose.

The police are particularly amused, they love it

You will love it crispy, the supporters are amazing, last game I went to, cologne v 1860 Munich I spent half of the match watching the Munich fans, colourful and noisy.

Beer is great, not so keen on the German sausage personally!!

We tried to get Dormund vs. Hamburg tickets but no such luck so trying our hand with MSV Duisburg instead. We're staying in Dusseldorf Friday, Saturday & Sunday night.

Bob's- I went to London for the Champions league final and was in Traf.Sq all day with Dortmund fans and they were all a great laugh. Just wasn't sure if they are hostile towards English at their home games. Dresen are a bit rough from what I've heard.

Can't imagine why Dresden fans would be at all hostile towards the English...

As long as you don't try and take the piss, you'll be fine. The Germans love their football and are generally pretty friendly.

Enjoy it

Went to a Bremen game a few years ago as couldn’t get St Pauli tickets and Hamburger were away.  It was decent, only criticism is their atmospheres are a bit orchestrated.  You know, the man on the microphone etc.  Beats an average premier ship game mind.  Plus you can drink, stand and smoke on the terraces.
