Ipad - Backing up Apps TV Music etc - Help me please!!

I need to update the operating software on my ipad as half the Apps have stopped working including SkyGo.

However....the Laptop that i used to last sync/set up with the Ipad is fucked.

I want to take off all my music, Apps, Tv Programmes, Films and back them up ....intall new operating system and then restore....but remember i dont have the original laptop.

Please help me ...its doing my fucking nut in!
 

I do fucking hate the Apple restrictions..

Just do the upgrade and stop panicking about backing up... I've never backup before an upgrade and never had a problem...

Only if you have chosen that setting whilst connected to the PC....

Are you doing a standard iOS update i.e. one that apple is is recommending?  If you are. This shouldn't cause you to lose your apps... It is normally just an advisory to back it up... If you are unsure call Apple support...
