Whats the point in Cooper leading the team in Portugal unless he is getting the job of course.

Worth another look.

Beginning to think the only question left to ask of our relationship with Spurs is spits or swallows?

I suspect we'll have our man by then or when we get out there and low and behold, Sam et al won't be there to interview the new man.

I can't see how having the media the would possibly be obstructive, but I fail to fathom much of what goes on in the minds of our board...

So, from tonight we have learned:

1. Town are likely to be playing against a Spurs Dev side in Portugal.
2. Hardly any Swindon coaching staff are going to be there.
3. Neither the Adver nor any other media are being allowed to the camp.

To me that sounds as if the Swindon team will be coached alongside the Spurs team. (I also read somewhere about 1/2 Portuguese players that Spurs were looking at). Maybe Swindon are acting as a sparring partner for Spurs and an opportunity for Spurs to gauge the strength of their next gen squad and potential signings?

1. We have another triallist who looks accomplished in midfield
2. Agombar was injured but is part of the team.
3. Collins is being used everywhere except his actual position

I can't see why you'd think that...back to back friendlies in searing heat is the kind of thing that Sepp Blatter might come up with...and he heads world football.

Or looked at another way, all our coaching staff will be there! It's just that we have hardly any.

In fairness Reg I don't think you can blame the board for the heat!

True....I'm sure if we'd had a manager he'd have found it a useful exercise...(as long as he knew nothing of sport's science)

No, you're right he wouldn't, it was obviously a fuck-up having our two "main" friendlies on consecutive days but obviously came about because the Brum one was booked when they got the chance to play Spurs. Spurs presumably offered us a "take it or leave it" date and Brum held us to the contract date, I assume because they had other stuff in their schedule. I don't imagine it was a very useful exercise for their gaffer either, playing against a team of knackered players from a league below.

What was the gate in the end btw? Did we get more than 2000?
