According to the Wigan administrator, Krasner, the EFL have now demanded that any new owner of a club has to put £5m in a bond. Up til now all they had to do was SHOW proof of funds. A bong would remain lodged and untouchableor the owner’s duration.

Maybe they should have thought of this way before now.

Think this makes a lot of sense. Proof of the pudding is in the tasting etc!

The idea's on the right track, but I don't think it should be a set 5M for every club.

Why that much for a club like Harrogate?
And surely it wouldn't be nearly enough for a club like Sunderland?

I reckon they should look at expenditure instead and base it on that.

Completely agree with this, don't think you can have a set amount and there needs to be some kind of calculation depending on the income/size of club. As you say you can't feasibly compare Harrogate/Barrow with Sunderland for instance.

I think the sum is the amount needed to keep a club afloat for 2 years.

That makes more sense. Your original post made it sound like a flat £5m across the board. Again, it would *really* help if you posted the links to the sources of stuff like this

Cheers. It was more of a general point tbh, that it's generally helpful - appreciate the original news though, hadn't seen that and it's definitely about time they did this

Administrator also seems to be doing the right thing in other ways, I like this;

The joint administrators have ruled out selling the stadium, separate to the club.

Reports linked Wigan Warriors chief Ian Lenagan with a bid for the ground.

The rugby league side also plays at the DW Stadium, along with Wigan Athletic.

But Mr Krasner said: “Without naming anyone, because of the non-disclosure agreements, I had an approach to buy all the properties but not the club.

“I also had an approach to buy the properties split between two parties, with one buying the club.

“That collapsed quickly. There’s been an offer for just the properties, which I will reject.”

F.C. Paços de Ferreira (top division in Portugal) using video to announce their fixtures for the coming season with their mascot (they are the Beavers) doing something which relates to the club they are playing.

Eddie Nketiah scoring a Hattrick (albiet against Kosovo) for England u21s. Is he the next Francis Jeffers or Alan Shearer?   Hmmm

Also, Bellingham comes on to be youngest u21 to play at 17. He also grabbed a goal. Sessignon and Nelson also scored.

Good stuff from the younger version of England, with several in that squad already knocking on the door of Gareth Southgate.

If Sessignon can make the step up it'll really help the national team. Be great to see.

Bellingham tore us to pieces last seasons in a friendly match for Brum and was then only 16

Am I right in thinking he has been selected or on the verge of selection for the National squad previously?

You're correct though, he's a talented player. Interested to see how Bellingham gets on since he move from Brum to Germany. Another Sancho in the making possibly?

I think he was talked about but can't be precise but he should kick on now with more game time at Newcastle and Bellingham may well be the new Sancho after a few years. Also don't forget Demarai Gray at Leicester who also played for Brum and is doing ok

There's certainly plenty that could make the step. Fairly spoilt at the moment. Although it was only Kosovo, these are the kind of results that England sides should be beating these teams by 6 or 7.
