I got to speak to him on the phone once. It was the day before my birthday and I was rather drunk, but he was totally cool and lovely. I'd have told me to bugger off  Smiley

The thing about Crouchy is even though he has been a successful footballer, he isn't an arrogant prick and isn't bothered about taking the micky out of himself.

When he retires Sky Sports will be lapping him up to become a pundit.

Gazza did that when he was playing for Rangers after picking up the card that the ref had dropped. Only the ref didn't see the funny side and booked him like a petulant wanker with a humour bypass.

I was just about to mention that. What an almighty bellend that ref was.

This article is four years old. As an unfortunate twist of fate, they recently folded!

Our old pal David Duke played for Jarrow for a little while too.

I think the new Charlie Austin, John Campbell played for them and maybe had a few games for our stiffs, there was an amusing interlude on thisis where some of the goons, went into boycott mode over Danny Wilson's refusal to sign him.

Think he had a stint at Torquay before Oxford wasted a money on him..... ironic that the only decent player they've signed this Century should be called Roofe.

Not really sure where it went wrong for Campbell, he had a half decent record at both Oxford and later Torquay, but no one fancied him after that?

So Torquay after Oxford, rather than as I thought other way around... but he did nothing at either really.
