Didn't they get a massive wedge for Lambert or Lallana sell on  - cannot remember which off top of head.

However, whilst I suspect it's poor reporting, I would be a little concerned if our chairman came out and said he was confident and later delighted that we passed the test,  you would hope that club executives would have enough handle on finances to know either way.

How do these things work over three years, i assume a lot of clubs taking a bit of flyer on gaining promotion in that time may panic in couple of years if it doesn't happen?

£ 3 mill for Grabban as well wasn't it?  Was it PdC who wanted him?

Although that was obviously tongue in cheek somewhat, I have heard that West Brom are weighing up a £3m+ bid for Matt Richtea in January...as long as Irvine is still manager of course.

FA making Chesterfield replay their FA Cup 2nd round match with Franchise after fielding an ineligible player.

Ludicrous decision but anything that worsens their fixture congestion can only be a good thing.

They obviously came up with some way of "reducing losses" by about £12m in the last couple of months. Presumably from the Lallana sell on clause with the owner making up the difference:

Wonder how Bolton avoided it and Wolves and a few others as well.....

Is it not as simple as a massive loan going in to bring the loss down?  More in hock to the owner?

I always thought it had to be based on a club's income - money simply injected by an owner is not allowed.

Obviously, clubs have creative accountants to channel such money into a legitimate scheme

I figured thats the only way 'muff got away with it.  Smaller crowd than us, cheaper tickets and yet the squad they went up with was 10 players larger, with players who's reputations certainly suggested higher wages than ours and they weren't relying on loans.

8 mil extra 'income' in the shape of a loan makes it possible to pay decent wages for players.

Owners can plug £5m of a total £8m loss I think.  So add in the transfer fees and you'll be easily there for Bournemouth.  Slightly tougher next time around though I'd guess, without selling anyone.
