And Borussia Dortmund fans

Too right. Great team. Had a couple of Dortmunders in the pub yesterday for lunch, they'd come a couple of days early for the match (allowed as paid leave by their bosses at the IT firm they work at!). Was nice to have a chat with them in their native language, they seemed quite surprised not only that I'd guessed who they were, but that some tiny pub in the middle of the countryside had people who could speak German!

They tipped well too...

Gives you a warm feeling doesn't it? That would be a weird alternate universe though...

I'm learning German at the moment, it's bloody difficult. The vocab is fine but the grammar is a nightmare!

Echo Dortmund. They're brilliant. Was in London yesterday, Traf Sq. on the piss and they were loving us English fans there, teaching us the songs, letting off smoke bombs and loving it. Group of Munich fans walked past and Dortmund started throwing full cans of beer at them - Not in a violent way, and started singing in German as I was told 'Come and Drink with us Munich' to the tune of 'We are the red and white army'

Was an amazing site.

A lot is said about which league is better but I went to Hamburger SV vs. VfL Wolfsburg a few weeks ago and the whole 'matchday experience' was, in my opinion, infinitely better than our Premier League equivalent (it's unfair to compare it to the lower leagues).

* Makeshift bars providing cheap drink
* Ticket scanned just before entering the ground and everyone is swiftly searched by stewards.
* Police seemed to be in a couple of large groups outside the stadium site but I didn't see a copper in the ground.
* You could enter the ground at any turnstile and have a walk around.
* A lovely terrace behind the goal (away terracing is located in the corner at the opposite side. Very small, created a decent atmosphere - we could have easily simply joined the Wolfsburg fans if we wanted to)

The Imtech Arena has the hallmarks of what should have been considered a 'plastic stadium' yet still manages to pull it off.

Drink and smoke.

Also, plenty of away fans in full colours dotted around the ground not holding back when Wolfsburg scored too. Nobody cared.

I read that a season ticket at Frankfur(I think) costs little over £100.

Considering a trip to Berlin later this year and will definitely plan to see a game, Bundesliga or otherwise
