Paolo's exit hurts far more than Ritchie's does. Let's be honest here.
Disagree. Sure, Paolo going was something that was more shocking at the time, but I think we'll be ruing Ritchie's exit for far longer. If you think how many extra crosses would have come in, how many extra players would be used to mark him up and keep him out of the game, leaving room for others. And let's not forget the goals rescuing a tricky situation. I honestly think he was that important to our team that his loss is the reason for our steady decline.

This is an extremely average squad, Paolo was the one who made an average bunch of players into a good team. Ritchie is a big loss but all players are replaceable, it's just a shame due to the timing of his exit and the situation we weren't able to bring in a decent replacement.

I personally think its lack of squad depth that cost us. Look at the squad at its peak, look at it now. We are shy Ritchie, Bostock, Hollands, McCeverly and Thompson.
However I do feel we have shot ourselves in the foot by not making the most of what we had left, changing the system and playing three kids.
Fact is, we could have kept 4-4-2 and Paolo and still ended in this 'mess'. I don't think so but...

There were plenty on here, who stated they'd be happy to see PdC go, because of his management by hand grenade...incomprehensible post match rants and falling out with players. What they wanted is a MacDonald, who deals in management talk cliches and is asssiduous in praising players publically however shit they've been. Of course, most of these now want him out

Without Di Canio we now have 11 average players.

Just as well these fans didn't force the board to sack Di Canio then and he walked on his own.
See, we can all go round in circles.

Thank god the club didn't listen to your advice before appointing Macari then. He would have fallen foul of two of your criteria. However, based on them Paul Hart would be a better bet (he just missed out on the Charisma front)

You wouldn't have appointed PDC then, he didn't meet your requirements
