I see the lazy News Monkey hasn't relayed the story that on a quieter day would have been the Adver's top headline, namely that Miles Storey is out for the rest of the season with a 20cm Grade 3 hamstring tear. In case you missed it:

What bad luck, and bad timing - sounds like he was on fire for 25 minutes on Tuesday. Hope he's retained next year.

Should have been given a new contract by now. Would be good if Jed sorted it as a priority.

Judging by his twitter comments he is quite down about this and worries about not getting a new deal

Honestly think we should invest in him as it's not going to be a big gamble. Was decent on Tuesday, sharp and a right handful for their defenders. Think also under Di Canio he wasn't given a good run of games despite injuries as PDC was worried about inflating his ego especially after Villa.

Could be a blessing in disguise. He's unlikely to attract suitors now, and we can wait to see how his fitness progresses and sign him up in the summer on rather less than we'd have had to if he'd been playing regularly.

half my post vanished there...

i hope it's not a recurring problem that he's got or that this period of injuries will hinder his development.
