I understand that it is 2.5 years.  My understanding might be complete bollocks though.

Yeah, that's what I thought, well 2 and a bit anyway.

So the end of season 2014/15.

Think if we're going to promote coaches from elsewhere then we might as well have given Bodin the job until the end of the season and taken it from there.

Premier League assistant = lots of shit loan players who are never going to make it on loan?

This seems a bit unfair: not all coaches are identical, and this guy should at least have plenty of contacts at Villa, whose youth system produces far more hits that most- albeit most of them are in their first team at the moment!

Well we need loan players in regardless. I think the chances of getting a better quality of loan player is with the guy with almost 20 years of top flight and academy level coaching.

Plus we don't know whether Bodin fancied it.

I agree with all this to be fair, and Bodin seems to be have a little conspicuous in his absence through this whole affair.

As far as I know the new bloke isn't a fascist, and I gave Malpas a fair go, so I better be fair.

Much rather Macdonald than Bodin.

Pleased with this appointment and the positivity coming from Villa fans is hopefully a good sign about him

How the fuck did the Newell and Stein dream team not win?  I demand a recount.  There were posts telling me that it was a nailed on cert, been seen at the club, done a deal, shook the hands, got the scarf and photographer ready.

Fucking hell Ben, you're sounding like DMR.

Maybe, just maybe, he could turn out to be quite good at this management malarky!
