Needs to be quick, and someone who knows the league. Although I understand the sentiment, I don't see why this is a necessity. We just need a manager who can finish the job off. It's also worth pointing out that Mike Newell 'knows this league'

Because I think we need a couple of loans in, and I think the loan window isn't that long. So we need somebody who knows where to get said players. Maybe I should have said knows what players we need.

I'd rather have a manager that knows the Championship!

Then I would lean towards saying that we ideally need a manager who has the contacts to bring in the right loans. Like what was happening with Charlton Athletic.

Yes that is what I mean. I'd quite like to give a player manager a go again, but I don't think now is the time, and if we rebuild in the summer to a lesser budget maybe not then either! A Sturrock would do nicely for now. Just to try and get us over. Problem is I don't actually mean Sturrock, his style of play and methods would be all wrong!

Bradley Wright Phillips has apparently gone to Brentford on loan. Buckle is now favourite for the job. Leaving you with those two delightful bits of info, I'm off to bed. What on earth will tomorrow bring? Quite honestly, I dread to think!

I wouldn't read too much into bookies odds. Even premier league jobs have had betting suspended only for a non-favourite to eventually take the job. Nothing more than people seeing he left Luton, seeing Paolo left here and putting a cheeky bet on. I even saw a non-stfc twitterist tonight claim Newell was on his way back to Luton...

The odds really mean nothing, it's a tiny market that will change massively everytime someone chucks a few quid on someone.
If the TEF put a bit of effort into it and called the pressure group out of retirement, we could probably get Steve Lomas as favourite. Or Sheena Easton. Or flammableBen.

Steve Lomas, now there is an idea:
In his first season as manager of St Johnstone, Lomas took the club to a top 6 finish for the first time since 1999 On 4 October 2012, Lomas was named SPL Manager of the month, the first time a St Johnstone manager had won the award
