Potentially a very solid appointment, purely based on his reputation as a coach. We need that positive feeling back, and the fact he is untarnished by failure elsewhere helps.

MacDonald is pretty much the "shrug the shoulders" option. Not exciting enough to heighten expectations. Not a proven useless cunt. Ian Wright is not only a cunt but I don't think i could cope with him after PdC. Also for those who want Jed to wear a tie then they'd probably have a fit with a manager who dresses in the urban pimp range.
I think its playing fairly safe and thats probably a good option at the mokent. He's avaialble now, got good contacts, a good reputation and won't cost a lot.
I'm quite happy to give the guy a chance.

Did he turn them down? If so this pleases me even more as it would suggest he was a bloke who knows his own mind and wanted to wait until the right job with the right people came up. Suggests he at least has bought into our new leaders ideas. |

To a point. Turning down Blackburn is definitely a case of not wanting the wrong job with the wrong people, it doesn't take much of a moral compass to dodge that bullet (though Appleton is doing well). Seems like an okay appointment for you, does anyone know how he wants his team to play? |
