Trying to rip a CD to the laptop to copy onto a new Ipod Touch. The CD has ripped ok to the laptop, but I can't sync or copy the library across - it is not doing anything to recognise the Ipod. Help!  Sad

I assume the ipod is working.

Try this first:

http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/assistant/itunes/

Then this:

No, it should work with other software.

Have you actually plugged the iPod in and does windows see it as a disk drive?

When plugged in it does the usual "open folders for viewing?" etc. It doesn't shout out "Ipod" Smiley

Yep, my ipod works with Winamp, Media Monkey. Winamp is preferred because I just right click on the thing and 'send to ipod' saves all the bullshit with syncing etc. Just my preferred way.

[4D]How do I get iTunes[/4D] Wink

I think someone should probably follow the instructions from the links I posted haha

Sharepod is ace. It's just easier for me to use winamp to rip and then transfer without opening another application.

MP3s and online facilities like Spotify are brilliant and convenient, but CDs sound so much better - hence I still buy the odd CD.
