I'm not going anywhere (hopefully), but I've always thought about what songs I want to have, and I've stuck with the same ones for a while now so I'm going to have these.

1) http://s41.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3SDSH43HS93CU31PH3RDU6QSD0
Van Morrison - Have I told you lately. This will be played when they bring my coffin up the isle.

2) New Radicals - You get what you give. One of my faves, and a bit more rousing, I want people to be cheerful, funerals are depressing enough anyway!

3) The Jam - Going Underground. Everyone thinks I'm being funny/ironic with this, but as I'm going for cremation cause I don't want to wake up 6 foot under it's purely cause the Jam are my fave group of all time and this is one of their best songs.

4) Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness.  Top tune, excellent live.
http://s41.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1013KYQ9M6U1K3UKKAKK98TGSY

and to finish with me going behind the curtain!

5) Oasis - Champagne Supernova.

Anyone else thought what songs they want to have?

From last years suicide note..

Longpigs - On and on:

All the songs that I've sung here,
More often than you know.
Cause you're the lull that I've countered,
More often than I've let it show.
And I wish you would leave me.
And I wish you would go.
And I wish you didn't need me.
And I wish I didn't love you so.
Cause I just can't go on.
So please don't do me wrong.
No, I won't do you harm.
My love for you goes on & on.
There's no one else I want beside you.
Give me a cold shoulder to cry upon.
You're never anywhere I find you.
You're never anything I rely upon.
And I wish you would leave me.
And I wish you would go.
And I wish you didn't need me.
And I wish I didn't know.

But I just can't go on.
So please don't do me wrong.
No I won't do you harm.
My love for you goes on & on & on & on.
No, I just can't go on.
So please don't do me wrong.
No I won't do you harm.
Cause my love goes
on & on

(Limewire it for full effect)

I think Champagne Supernova is a great choice, as is Live Forever for its symbolic meaning.

I also think Vehicles and Animals by Athlete at the moment, but by the time I pass away that may have changed.

You'd be surprised to know that it would be a Stranglers-fest for me !

No More Heroes - As the coffin is brought in
Never Say Goodbye - as the coffin slips behind the curtains
Everyone Loves You When Your Dead - As the crowd (or couple of family members) depart

Bruce Springsteen - Atlantic City
everything dies baby and that's a fact
but what if everything that dies someday comes back?

The Doors - The End
This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes...again

Nick Drake - From The Morning
A day once dawned
and it was beautiful
