Cyclist down by Windmill Hill tonight. Hit by a car on the roundabout.

Older fella, didn't look in a good way when I drove past Sad

This make me sad.

I'm not long back from Holland where the set up for cycling is so far ahead of this country. Nearly every road has a cycle path and not just a bit a red tarmac but a separate path to the side of the road and usually on both sides. One day we cycled 20 miles to a town called Apeldoorn and didn't once have to go on a road other than to cross it. Where we stayed was in the middle of national park with hundreds of miles of paths through forest - not gravel but tarmac - it is just simply superb. To give you some context you could have easily cycled a the equivalent of Swindon to Bath/Bristol without going on roads. It is a bit flat though.

 Anybody catch the World Championships?

Nice to see Lizzie Armitstead take the rainbow in the ladies race yesterday.

I like the look of the AirWheel. I see there's a shop in Swindon town centre selling them.

I see Sky have signed Kwiatkowski for next season. Losing Porte to BMC doesn't look so bad now.

And Landa and Intxausti and van Poppel!

Not sure who is going to be leaving - Stannard? Viviani?

Not sure it ever looked really bad, they need someone to super domestic and then succeed Froome and sadly Richie never looked capable (for whatever reason) of either team leadership or having a consistent three week tour. Will be interesting to see what happens to him at BMC, the admittedly well paid grave yard of promising careers.

Be surprised if Stannard went as he ticks the useful 'British but wins the occasional one day race' box not sure how many spaces they actually have to fill anyway as Wiggins went mid season?

Has anyone got a recommendation for an ANT+ or Bluetooth heart rate monitor and speed/cadence sensor?

I've just bought myself a turbo for some winter training and want to try and do some targeted HR work.

Only owned two ant+:
1. Garmin standard
2. Garmin delux

The first is less comfortable but seems OK. The latter more comfortable but you need to wash the strap every 6-10 exercise sessions or it reads wrong in the first 10 minutes. Then the strap fell apart, so I replaced it with a compatible Polar strap but it got nicked (with the watch).

Got a replacement, but waiting for Garmin to release a proper multi sport watch now with inbuilt optical sensor...not that its any use for what you want.

I just use my Garmin with a spare cadence sensor and HRM.

Stepped out for a half ton around the Cotswolds today with a few mates. The wind was boarding on farcical but it just made it even more of a hoot. Absolutely great fun.

How's everyone's winter riding going?

Just read a couple of training/turbo books and have been doing 2 turbo sessions a week plus one longish low intensity ride at the weekend. Struggled in the wind on the south coast yesterday.

Looking to do a 100 mile off road event next year (or looking to be a bit shit for a 100 miles)

How are you linking this up ?? I've a Tacx Satori/Garmin 500 and I don't think I can link them up - any techy advice welcome.
