2 of us doing the trip, setting off by car at 9am. Cheap stop off tip to those who are driving, M1 services south of Sheffield (Hinkley or something?), they have a normal priced Macdonalds going both ways

Cutting it a bit fine?
Everyone drives faster than me, I think. I'd be allowing 5 to 6 hours that trip.

My employee card for McDonalds means that the extortionate service station prices are no object, enjoy your full priced meals though.

True. Not a bad first job though... Money is money, especially good money saved from buying extortionately priced McDonalds!

I'm sure someone has posted on another page about car parking, so to save me the aggro of looking what is the sp on a) parking and b) a pre-match pint at a decent hostelry that will allow kids in?
Mr, Mrs and Master Fatbasher welcome you to say hello to us. I picked up the replica shirts today for me and Master and Mrs will have her generic Samsung Polo shirt on so the three of us should not be to difficult to spot.

Got this from a monkey hanger I'm meeting up there "We always park at the historic quay its free and close to the ground, then head over the bridge to a boozer called the ward jackson, Postcode for your Sat nav mate Ts24 0xz" He assures me it's a weatherspoons and OK for away fans, so that's where I'm heading, never been before so I know no better.
