This is a grim eye-witness account of the accident last night.

Ride safely please.

That was the page I read just before my first post on here this morning.  Still feel sick in my stomach after reading it.  Poor bastard.  A split second decision was all it took.  This time yesterday, he still had his whole life ahead of him.

See Bradley Wiggins wants the law changing about helmets for cyclists. I agree, it should be the law that anyone who rides a bicycle should wear a helmet.

If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious shit...

I've got a mate who refuses to ware one because it would "make him look a bellend". I'd rather be a live bellend than a dead one myself, each to their own.

Beside which, an overweight 30something struggling up a small hill on a bike will never look anything other than a bellend.

Tragic death but the cyclist's fault. I won't ride on busy roads and seeing people in london and other towns cities doing that think is very risky.
I'd rather break the law and ride on a path than die on a road cause some cock in a rush knocked me off.

Infuriates me to see cylists riding on roads when there is a cycle path right there. Ditto those who ride at night with no lights on their bikes.

If there is a cycle path option I'll use it.

Thanks for reminding me Arriba I need to get some lights on my bike, for the winter.

Cyclepaths I'll use, cycle lanes not always - depends on what bike I'm on as they tend to full of drains, pot holes etc.

Those who know me, know I don't give a fuck what I look like. I just find helmets bloody uncomfortable.

I'm 30 years old and I've never hit my head while cycling, don't see the point.

A good friend of mine was hit a couple of years ago.  Thankfully, there was no long term damage.  But the paramedics who arrived on the scene told him that, had it not been for his cycle helmet, he would almost certainly have died.  No guarantees in life, but you take your choices and live (or die) with them, I guess.

With your lack of hair it would make you look like a knob if you wore one antway
