No doubting his ability but 60 million for one player seems like complete and utter madness.  No one can compete with that.

That said Crespo and Shev up front sounds pretty god damn menacing and if it secured the title and Champions league then it may seem like a reasonable investment with the money accrued back.

Where can we get a dodgy Russian billionaire to trade for an Irish midget.

i think we should start scouting for a rich bloke, as someone said on a sky sports phone in, if united don't want glazier come down to the county ground and we will roll out the red carpet for him!

however £60 mill is a shockin, football is slowly killing itself Yes

he is a quality player, but 60 mil seems a lot. No one is ever worth that much. Imagine what you could do with 60 million1

He's 29, he's a class act, but in two years Chelsea will want whoever the latest shiny new goal scoring starlett is at the time - considering this I don't see £60 mil as money well spent as they'll sell him in two years for about £7 mil.

I think it's a real shame Chelsea didn't buy Rooney lasty year, he is better than Shevchenko, it's all very well doing the business in some tin pot Italian league but like Crespo they may find the premiership a bit tougher, he'd probably do ok though but I don't think he'll go to Chelsea anyway.

He can't be worth that much, But i suppose when Chelsea turn up asking for a player, the price goes up about 30 million , shame .

If they paid that for a 29 year old they'd be mental, regardless of how good he is.
