Wilf Shergold currently winning the Old Duffer award (first game in 1958).  Can anyone top this?

No word yet from Reg, I see.

Edit: On re-reading, that sounds a little rude.  Apologies.  I probably meant 'Senior Supporter award'.

Did we really only get a crowd of 12,400 odd that day?!  Crowds really have gone up, generally, in recent years, haven't they?

Remember we weren't too happy at not selling out vs Charlton the other year. Looking at that attendance it doesn't seem quite so bad now.

Saturday 29th March 1969

Swindon Town vs Watford.

Attendance 28,898.

The match was played on a saturday evening and was effectively a Championship decider, between the two top teams.

All i remember about the game was the size of the crowd, the winning goal and a Watford fan towering over me,i was
a small and young boy, lording it and shouting,"Champions,Champions".

The next game i ever went to, was the following season when we beat Charlton 5-0 and it was on MOTD and i was
in the Town End for the first time.

Swindon vs. Ipswich FA Cup 3rd Round 1994

I could have sworn Keith Scott scored until I looked at http://swindon-town-fc.co.uk/MatchCentre.asp?MatchID=19940601  Thinking back he obviously would have been cup-tied.  Then Jan Aage did the Kazachok in the replay and the rest was history.

Reg has long forgotten the first game he went to...though a dickie bird tells me Fleming was still in the youth team Cheesy

I can't remember my first home game, but my first away was the 2-0 win at Pompey, 2 Jan 1989, with goals from Geddis and Shearer.

I was hooked on going away after that. My second away game was ... Pompey, five days later for the 1-1 FA Cup tie.

My first game watching Town was against Portsmouth and seeing Jimmy Dickinson play in 1961 (I think) my father thought it was time for me to show my true colours at the age of four...!!!!
Can't remember much about any games prior to the Coventry game 1964 when there was so much snow on the ground..
Sad but true can only remember the plastic cup of Bovril and train ride from Didcot.  Smiley

My first game was Swindon v Crewe at home. 1995 i think. Can't remember a great deal but i do remember my dad saying about Neil Lennon being a decent player and to watch out for him in the future.

Sheffield Wednesday in the cup in 1984.

1-0 win, massive cup upset and I was in the bog when they scored!

It was a decent game, both doing well in the league (may have even been first vs. second).

The goalkeeper got a good hand on Finney's penalty, it trickled over the line without hitting the net. That final point may just be my memory getting carried away.

The first game I can really remember was a 1-0 win over Wolves in Setember 1990, the away fans were given the town end after seats were put in that preseason, we stood in the wedge part of the bank where the away fans would stand in the future, and due to the number of Wolves fans we were moved to the north stand. After that game I think it went back to being home fans only.
I also seem to remember Calderwood doing his knee in and being out until March, but my memory os not that good

1968-69. Swindon 2 Bristol Rovers 2.
Think it was shortly after the league cup win and on the run to promotion.
My dad used to go to all the home games in those days standing on Stratton Bank but bought seats near touchline on north side - was pre new north stand and my memory was we sat on wooden benches but could be wrong!
Dad stopped going during fuel crisis which coincided with us being shit 1974? but got me hooked for life.
