I have turned into a bit of a fat bastard and need to do something about it. Anyone got any tips outside of the normal eat well/exercise?

Thanks
Love Fatty McFreddie xx

85% is down to what you eat 15% is down to gym/exercise
the concept is pretty simple. Calories out > calories in = weight loss
One things to remember is dont over rely on protein powders, they shuold not be used as a meal replacement, but as an additional meal, to get that extra protein, try and get as much of your protein from real foods, chicken, fish, beans, pulses, eggs etc etc
When it comes to diet make sure you are eating enough, these silly 1000 calorie a day diets DO NOT WORK!! Work out your BMR (google it)

Now to the training, dont over do cardio, and dont think 300 sits ups a day will get you a six pack, wel it will but it will stil be covered with a layer of fat.

Concentrate on your weights, big compound excersices. (compound means works a number of muscles in one go) as opposed to isolated excesises (dumbell curls and such)
The best excersises you can do are the following
Benchpress
Squat
Dead lift
Bent over row
Pull ups
to name a few.

Doing these in the right way can give you better fat loss results that any cardio. Im not saying dont do any cardio, but too many people think 5 days of cardio will work, yes, it will help loose weight, but it will not lose FAT!
If you do cardio, read up on something called HIIT.

if you want any more help let me know. i dropped 4/5 stone going back a year or so, since changing jobs and now having to commute ive let myself go a little, but getting back on it now with a wedding to prepare for.

IIRC Barry posted a link to a pretty brutal soup that could make you drop wait but always a short term fix. Like Chubbs said, the only long-term way to weight-loss is to expend more calories than you take in meaning you need to get off your arse and exercise more.

I started my excercise regime last night. I walked to and back from the pub instead of getting a cab on the way home.

The thing is, dieting is very dull. Eat less, move more.

Get a pedometer. Sign up to the Global Corporate Challenge if its not too late.
