This might seem a silly question, but our next door neighbours have a wasp nest in their loft. Do I need to worry about coming in ours? Don't the wasps just move on or are they killed?

Wouldn't be taking any chances. Evacuation procedures in place?

Well they haven't knocked on the door or anything and have been there for half hour. They know we have a little one.

The silence from Sippo suggests it wasn't safe...

Apparently there was a wasp nest on the other side of our fence which backs onto a primary school.

I noticed at the weekend a group of kids about 12-13 were paying a lot of attention to it, hitting it with stones, sticks, etc.

I got home from work last night and the said fence has been pretty much obliterated by fire.
My initial thought was those kids had set fire to to the wasp nest.
I phoned the police to report it and also phoned the school.

I had a phonecall from the school this morning, it turns out the groundsman of the school decided he would get rid of the nest himself and in the process set fire to the whole area, including our fence.

They're going to get in contact with me to get the fence replaced and were very apologetic.
Atleast I haven't got to mess about dealing with house insurance to get it sorted.

I've just got an image now of someone like Sloth from The Goonies with a flame thrower.

The powder sorted mine in the end. Took a couple of days but haven't seen any near the house since.

And someone tell Sippo he can come out now...
