Remember to take a straw so you can still breathe though.

Don't do that or they'll find a way down and then you'll be dealing with an allergic reaction in your throat. Certain death. Just chance your luck by holding your breath.

I got stung by 2 or 3 o the buggers when I was a kid. They got down the back of my t-shirt and I scratched which led to multiple stings. Back swelled up pretty badly.

Oddly don't have a problem with them at all though, will catch them in a glass and free them easily enough. They can be evil but ultimately they won't harm you unless your pissing them off.

Had another recce, no wasp in sight so grabbed all of the stuff I needed. Not opening that loft hatch again until December when they're all dead.

Whilst Googling earlier I did find this thread on Piston heads which gave me a giggle.

Being a tightwad I would have to do a bit of DIY-ing pest control. A knife, bin bag, 5 layers of clothing, the worlds biggest fly swatter and a pair of my old socks.

Dress in said clothes.
Cut nest from rafters and deposit into bin bag.
Drop socks into bin bag.
Splat any loose wasps.
Tie up bin bag.
Dispose.

More people die from inhaling the wasp poison than wasp stings.

Just kidding.

Yeah, but you've got to catch the moles, set fire to them and so on.

Everybody knows that moles don't smoke. They can never get their fags lit.
