Woy has a big call to make here....why should Rooney walk back into the starting XI.
Because he is our best player by far.

On which England performance do you base that?-6 years ago?

Whilst i don't think Rooney is the world class player that many think he is it's plain crazy to suggest he should be left on the bench on Tuesday.

He quite simply a better player than the others strikers in the squad.

Jimmy Greaves was a better player than Geoff Hurst, but Greaves lost his place to injury, Hurst came in and did a job and Jimmy had to sit it out when he became available for the latter stages. Rooney has done nothing to merit preferential treatment.

35 goals in 44 games last season should and will justify meriting preferential treatment.

Play the best 11 players, now isn't the time for any other logic.

Play all 3 in a 4 3 3. What's the worst that could happen?

Rooney was in the squad to play in this game (and hopefully beyond).
There was no way that Hodgson would leave him out.

We haven't done too bad without the messiah, have we? Fuck him, put him on the bench. Carroll and Wellbeck deserve to start. Maybe that way Rooney will learn not to be a petulant selfish cunt

Would give Rooney a free role behind Wellbeck and Carroll.....leaving Milner on the bench.

Rooney will start just depends who partners him, i would have Carroll personally. Apart from that id leave the team as it was against Sweden and bring walcott/ox on when the Ukrainian get tired around the 65/70 minute mark

Well well, the Russians are out.  Bit of a shock there.

Did not expect Russia to get knocked out especially after their first game! I bet Group B and the likes of Germany and Portugal are licking their lips in prospect of facing the Czechs and Greeks
