Cox was gash against the croats, although they all were tbf

I think that's pretty harsh on him (and my opinion is has nothing to do with his Swindon past).

As much as I love the bloke it's pretty sad state of affairs for Eire if they are starting a striker who is realistically a top-end championship player.

Well they have a world class coach in charge....so getting the nod over Long and others is a big up to Coxy.

First time we've had a proper old boy play in a major tournament since the Fridge did a memorable marking job on Ronaldo, in the 98 WC.  Smiley

As much as I didn't like the bloke, doesn't Fallon count as an ex-Town player competing in a major tournament in WC2010?

I'm willing Coxy to do well, but the truth is he doesn't seem to be getting a sniff (at least based on my interrupted viewing).  Spain are just too good.

Started well enough and then duly disappeared.

Started watching the second half, and had to give up. It's painful to watch

Good work. Somehow I forgot about the Kiwi's, I think, undefeated WC.

If Spain had decided to step up a gear (and they could) then this could have been far, far worse for the Irish.

Roy Keane wasn't best pleased with the Irish performance then?

Think he was spot on.  Must be bad enough seeing your country taken apart like that but to have to listen to the patronising commentary on the spirit of the “Oirsh” from ITV was pretty grim.

“Oooh look at the fans singing along”

“Fair to say they will be having a drink tonight”

Why not go the whole hog and stuff a spud up his arse.
