Reportedly not in the squad.

OK, so no Micah Richards and no Kyle Walker in the squad, maybe that's why Gary Neville has been draughted in.

I'd rather Phil Jones at RB than Glen Johnson.

Me too, Glenn Johnson is a weak link defensively.

There is no logical reasoning for taking Terry. He's not as good as he used to be, he is very disruptive and the racism trial will be hanging over him and the entire squad until it is resolved. He had the opportunity to get trial out of the way before Euro 2012 but he deliberately delayed it, he should have taken the option of clearing his name sooner rather than later.

If he is selected and then found guilty it will make the FA and Hodgson look like idiots and will hang over them for some time to come, especially due to all the bad blood it has created.

If the manager said to both of them "I want to take you both to the finals are you ok with that?" and one of them said no, which would you choose.

I'm guessing not the one that spends more time injured than playing, and said I'm not playing if you pick him.

Personally I would have left them both out, neither are the future for England so why not go for players that will be around for the next 8-10 years
That's the thing though isn't it.Ferdinand has actually played 38 games this season, granted Terry has played more but the games he has missed have all been recently due to hip injury.

I hope it's just a rumour looking for a reaction, but there are reports that Downing will be included.

Downing has played in every game for England this season.

Why exclude him now?

Because he is shit.

Never let facts get in the way of a good time.

People want too much from Hodgson's selection already. He has to take some of the current regulars for continuity alone, right? If not he'll get slated for selecting a squad that's on a suicide mission.

The facts are he has no assists and no goals this season.

Because if the squad is picked on form like it should be (and what I've been hoping an England manager would do since Hoddle), he is in the midst of a rather large spell of ineffectiveness...

Sven picked players based on 'current form' and got slated for selecting footballers who "weren't England quality".

England managers are eternally on a hiding to nothing.

For the record, I don't rate Downing.
