Depends on who leaves, they've been playing some half decent football of late (post-Muamba) but they had that nightmare start that ultimately did for them.

If they can hang on to the bulk of the squad (tbh, who would want most of their players anyway?) then I reckon they could bounce back at the first attempt.

I think it's a recognition of the fact that relegated clubs will still have Premier League overheads.  They need a few years to scale their costs back to a more manageable level.  Avoids clubs gambling to stay up and then going bust.  So I can see why the payments exist.  I'd just question whether £40m over 4 years is really necessary.

A payment that give you tons of money if you go up avoids clubs making the gamble.

Are you sure?

Yep, a blatant foul on the goalie for Stoke's first and the penalty was harsh.

But no more so than QPR were at Bolton when a clear goal was not given.

Bye bye Gartside

It is very encouraging though to see the likes of Swansea and Norwich to survive quite easily and also Reading make it back there.

If, and it's a big if, we can carry on sorting the club out on and off the pitch and revamp the CG, maybe we could become a similar club.

Although i think Bolton were on the receiving end of bad decisions yesterday, that one game didn't get them relegated - a whole season of average to poor results put paid to that, as well Coyle knows.

I wonder how that tw*t Gartside feels about promotion between the PL and the FL now.

Still think there should be no promotion, Phil?
Or maybe just Bolton should be able to be promoted back to the Premier League.

Enjoy sorting out your £100m debts, won't you?

Had a little chuckle when the results came in, Bolton and Blackburn gone, marvellous
