So assuming we get another forward and Woolery stays we’ll have DJ, Smith, Payne, Woolery, Hope plus 1 more as the forward players. Numbers wise that will be good, just hope the 1 more is in the Doyle mould and does all his work in the box.

I think you have to read between the lines with what Wellens has said in ToTT interviews.

DJ - We had last year
Payne - Anderson replacement
Woolery - If he stays was here last year
J Smith - Isgrove replacement
TBC - Yates repacement
TBC - Doyle replacement
T Smith - Quoted as Muskwe replacement by Wellens (may be tongue in cheek or demanding)
Hope - Here last year

Now on the face of it the  muskwe thing is a bit of a joke. But consider also that last season we tended to play 4 of these. Normally Yates, DJ, Woolery supporting Doyle. So you need 8, 2 for each position.

So you probably need 2 more still. And those two need to have experience and at least one preferably a proven goalscorer (Norwood etc).

I suspect Hope could leave as well. Wellens only said nobody was going anywhere while we are so short. If he gets those couple in i think the Hope thing could happen. The eighth then may be Twine, though Wellens has (rightly) walked back how good he is after the last couple of friendlies.

So i think its 2 Strikers now and a back up keeper, plus Donohue when it happens. He clearly wants another midfielder, suggesting someone box to box, or the Ireland deal. So i think 4-5 more to come in.

Maybe but finances are a bit different this season and Muskwe only signed in Jan & seemed a panic incase we lost either Doyle or Yates so think we may end up with one less even despite Wellens comments.
Twine isn’t getting close to the match day squad looking at those forward players so not even factoring him into the equation.

I think Hope and Muskwe were bought in as Doyle and Yates contingence plans. Probably against the odds we managed to sign Doyle and Yates and both of back up players.

I can’t imagine we will replace all 4.

I hope Twine comes good just to annoying the poster above.

Red Card. Let's keep things on topic for once ey Monsieur Geoffers?  Evil Joy Stick Flaccid Dick

Although, when talking about a "regular starter" potentially moving on, I did think that we do have maybe too many options to accommodate in MF. I was surprised to see Rose go and Palmer retained but maybe it is because Rose is just too similar to a couple of others?

With that in mind if a player considered a regular, had to move it could well be Doughty (and not because of Trainer related forays)  Hmmm

I was just so impressed that you had joined us, and so frustrated that the instigator of tonight’s hot “news” had buggered off without facing the inquisition into his unsubstantiated allegation, that my mind wandered for a second or two.
I’ll try to be better behaved in future. Yay

Doubt it.

Maybe at the end of the season when contract expires if that ever happened
