Wellens said tonight that contract offers will be in by Friday but the players will be told they can’t sign them yet as we can’t afford to pay them through the summer. He mentioned Grant, Doyle, Anderson and Fryers specifically. Other clubs will be in the same boat so no concerns about them being pinched.

He also said that of the 1500 players out of contract this summer he thinks half will fall out of the game!

I thought Fryers was on a two year deal

Hopefully new contracts on Friday might mean promotion  will be rubber stamped.

Listened to this last night. Apart from the excessive 'ladishness', it was interesting to hear what Wellens had to say about his approach to management in a relaxed atmosphere.

Which suggests to me that he thinks he's coming back.

i suspect Plymouth will try and snap him up after the game at Home Park.  They may be a better proposition if/when lower league football re-starts.

Surprises me! I honestly expected no new contracts to be offered at all. Obviously we don’t know if those are improved or reduced contracts.

No great surprise, and he’s been here a while but it was time for Henry to go he was never going to be a league keeper he just doesn’t have the stature. When you see how good a young keeper like Benda is you realise how far off Henry is.

someone previously said they were kind of provisional in getting cash in through the doors in one easy or another .. here's the terms but don't sign them yet..

did that come from Wellens interview the other day?
