R C-C is still under contract....

Wait, what? I thought "released" meant no contract as apposed to "available".

Of the contracts offered, not sure about McGivern but the rest seem sensible enough (assuming Moore is signing as a backup keepe, which would be an upgrade on RCC)

No real complaints about those released. Was intrigued to see how smith would develop, but I don’t think releasing a teenager with a handful of league starts is going to kill us

Would love to know what flitcroft saw in Robertson to offer him a two year deal

PB will have an idea of his favoured formation and players but as a rough guide that leaves us with something like:

First XI: Vigs, Taylor, Preston. Conroy, Knoyle, Dunne, Linganzi, Iandolo, Anderson, Mullin, Richards

Bench: Moore, Lancashire, McGivern, Young, twine, Woolery, Norris

Also: Edwards, Pryce, Robertson, Henry, Romanski

It's a shame we have so many CBs on the books as we could do with improving there. The midfield definitely looks weak and we need to see more from the likes of Woolery and Anderson next year, especially if we're not bringing anybody else in up top.

My shopping list (including loanees) would be: 1 CB, 1 RB, 1 LB, 1 CDM, 1 CAM, 1 CF to play off Richards or Norris

Moore improved quite a bit over the run of games that he played.

All depends on LV's attitude and if he wants to stay.
PB might be able to manage him a bit better than his predecessor.

Official site suggests that contract had expired... https://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/news/2018/may/town-reveal-retainedreleased-list/

We willing took up an option on Norris?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! It better be because we can get some cash for him because i would have cut and run. We have so many forward players locked down in the squad and we need to create space to get better in, this would have been that opportunity.

Little surprised over Purkiss. I know not a fans favorite but i think he was a lot better than many gave him credit for. Not sure how McGivern justifies a contract over him for example.

My biggest disappointment with the news today is just how little room we seem to have to move (assuming those offered contracts sign them). We will have 5 CB's for example and our defense has been pretty bad all season with only Conroy free of any blame for that.

Costanza reckons 2019, I'm more inclined to believe him than the official site.

All quite calm on the Tom Smith reaction front.

Personally it’s not a surprise, a few managers now haven’t fancied him so I’d expect to end in the conference which would seem to be his level at best.

I would have thought that other clubs will be after Preston.  Perhaps the contract offer to McGivern is on the basis that they don't think Preston will sign a new deal?

If Preston plumped for us last year and hasn't been fit enough to stand out this season, are other clubs going to be queueing up for his signature? Time will tell but I wouldn't be surprised if we're the best offer he gets.

(Cue him signing for a top end L1 club within the next 24 hours)

Mansfield is the likely destination....

All the news said it was a two year one when he signed, but we are not to know what clauses were in there to activate the second year, seems very odd to pay him off if they have - at least keep him for the summer on the off chance that someone takes a punt on him from another club - based on your response to almost everything no doubt Mansfield would have bought him.
